Cisco: ASDM (Adaptive Security Device Manager) Vs FMC (Firepower Management Center)

Both the FMC (Firepower Management Center) and ASDM (Adaptive Security Device Manager) are management interfaces for Cisco security equipment, however they have different functions.

ASDM (Adaptive Security Device Manager)
For administering Cisco firewall devices, including the Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewall, ASDM is a graphical user interface (GUI). Administrators may create reports, monitor network activity, and adjust firewall policies using its user-friendly interface.

FMC (Firepower Management Center)
On the other hand, Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) devices are managed centrally by the FMC (Firepower Management Center). Administrators can control rules, events, and reporting for the whole network from a single location since it offers a single administration interface for several FTD devices.

To aid enterprises in better protecting themselves against cyber attacks, FMC also offers sophisticated threat defense capabilities such as threat correlation, incident response, and threat intelligence.

In brief, ASDM manages Cisco ASA firewall devices, whereas FMC manages Cisco Firepower Threat Defense devices.
